Many thanks for the active participation in the "Impact of Climate Change on Global Health" Conference, which was held in Brussels on Friday, 22 January.
This Conference has yet again reiterated that the climate change is the greatest threat to global health, as stated by the WHO. The time for international cross-sector dialogue, co-ordination and cooperation is a priority and imperative now to (a) mitigate detrimental risks of climate change, and (b) propose and implement efficient climate adaptation strategies to ensure resource resilience and sustainable development.
We had the utmost pleasure to host highly-distinguished speakers: climate change / global health policy and research experts, to whom we are entirely grateful for giving enthralling presentations, sharing and disseminating their knowledge, and exchanging the views with us. We were delighted of the superb turnout, including representatives from UNFCCC, UNEP, WHO, EC, CoR, EESC, NGOs, consultancies. The Conference also attracted trainees from the European Union institutions and Belgian-based students.
